The restoration of this landscape has always been the work of many hands. Whether you can join us for one workday or become a regular part of the Hui, there is a place for you in Hanapēpē.

Community Workdays

Join us on the land for planting, weeding, mulching, and habitat care. Workdays are family-friendly, and no experience is needed. We provide tools, guidance, and plenty of aloha.

Nursery Support

Help propagate native Hawaiian plants, culturally significant species, and food plants in our working nursery. Tasks include potting, watering, seed collection, and plant care alongside our nursery operator.

Weekday shifts · Training provided

Cultural and Education Programs

Support workshops, school visits, and community learning events. Cultural practitioners, lei makers, educators, and kūpuna with ʻike to share are especially welcome to help pass knowledge forward.

What to Expect

Before you come to the ʻāina

  • Wear covered shoes, sun protection, and clothes you can get dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle.
  • Workdays typically begin in the morning to avoid the heat. We gather for a brief welcome and orientation to the land.
  • The property includes wetland areas and active restoration zones. We will guide you to the area where help is needed most that day.
  • Groups, schools, hālau, and workplace teams are welcome. Reach out ahead of time so we can plan for your group size.
  • Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
